We are very excited to be hosting this show with Caravels and Sohns. These two bands rule! Caravels is a screamo band from Las Vegas on Topshelf Records. They just released their full length, Floorboards, on vinyl. Sohns hails from San Antonio packing serious heat on their tour with Caravels. They describe themselves as doom-punk. Radical. Our buddies from Baton Rouge, Secrets, will be opening the show giving you a healthy dose of two-piece indie poppunk goodness. come out and catch a seriously awesome show.
Well, it finally happened. We released an EP! Despite the poor attendance at The Howlin Wolf, we are proud to have it finished. The debut EP for MARATHON has arrived. Come celebrate our release date with THE SELF HELP TAPES, FOR HOURS AND OURS from Austin TX, and a solo drone and ambient set from CORY BRIM. Should be most excellent. Thanks to everyone that has supported us this far!
We plan to leave the next day on a weekend trip with FOR HOURS AND OURS, so we will hopefully be selling EPs and t-shirts to help raise gas money.
Hello friends. May 24th was really awesome and we had so much fun with everyone who came to see us and our new friends the Philly area. This is exciting. Some of the best Philadelphia indie, punkish, screamy, or whatever-you-wanna-call-it bands are coming into New Orleans on a huge tour they are doing over the U.S. They are releasing a 4-way split record with their friends back home Boys and Sex. This should be a most awesome show. I hope you can come out!

A benefit compilation for the Gulf Restoration Network.
On Wed. April 20th, 2011 (one year after the gulf coast oil spill), Community Records has released a benefit compilation to help create awareness and progress in the wake of the BP drilling disaster. For the compilation, Community Records has aligned with three different independent record labels from across the United States who will be submitting songs: Asian Man Records in CA, Plan-It-X Records in IN, and Quote Unquote Records in NY. The compilation will have over 60 songs and will include literature, movies, and other media about the spill. The compilation will be available is 100% FREE download on CommunityRecords.org with the option of donating money to the Gulf Restoration Network. The GRN has played an active role in keeping the ecosystem of the gulf coast in tact for over 15 years. Head Above Water will only be released as a digital download to avoid the use of new plastics as well as gasoline to ship them across the country.
